When Engineering Drawings are Required
Engineer-prepared and sealed plans are required when a project involves structural, life-safety, or system complexity beyond prescriptive code provisions, or when specifically required by code, building supplement, or AHJ determination. When a Colorado-licensed Architect or Engineer stamp is required, the Engineers stamp must be signed and dated and appear on each sheet of the design drawings, as well as on all supporting documents submitted with the application. The following information must be clearly identified on at least one page of the stamped documents:
-
Roof and ground snow loads (use the address lookup tool to determine site-specific values)
-
Adopted building code used in the design
